Richard Pan, MD, MPH : Director
Richard Pan, MD, MPH, is Director of Communities & Physicians Together (CPT), Associate Residency Director, Director of the Resident Continuity Clinic, and Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. Dr. Pan received his MD from the University of Pittsburgh and MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his pediatric residency and was chief resident at Massachusetts General Hospital and was a Dyson Advocacy Fellow and Primary Care Research Fellow at Children’s Hospital in Boston. He brings a broad background in child advocacy and medical education and is a leader in the community and medical profession serving in many leadership positions. His research interests include the impact of social environment on child health and well-being, physician workforce, and quality improvement.
Elizabeth Sterba, MS : Program Manager
Elizabeth Sterba has been a devoted child and community activist in the Sacramento area for over a decade. Elizabeth’s work began in her early teens when she sat on the Board of the Tahoe/Colonial Collaborative (TCC), a grassroots organization dedicated to improving child and family health in the Tahoe Park and Colonial Park communities. Ms. Sterba has served as a volunteer intern to her local County Supervisor where she helped form the County’s Youth Commission; as Chair of the Sacramento City Youth Commission; Planning Committee Member for the City of Sacramento’s Strategic Neighborhood Action Plan; President of the Sacramento YMCA Youth Leadership Club; Founding Member of the Tahoe Healthy Start Collaborative; and Executive Committee Member for the Community Partnerships for Healthy Children Leadership Council, all while earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development at California State University, Sacramento.
Most recently Elizabeth completed her Master of Sciences degree in Community Development at the University of California, Davis, while managing the Communities & Physicians Together program at UCD Medical Center, a collaboration that brings together more than seven grassroots organizations with faculty and resident physicians from family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics. Elizabeth continues to be active in the Tahoe/Colonial community as a volunteer and Advisory Group member to the TCC; she also serves as President of the Board of Directors for the countywide community building oragnization Sacramento ENRICHES; Board Member for the South Sacramento Coalition for Future Leaders; and as Vice Chair of the Sacramento County Children’s Coalition, which produces the bi-annual Sacramento County Children’s Report Card and distributes more than $1.5 million in funds to community projects annually.
